Light It Up Blue for Autism Speaks!

During April 1st and 2nd, all proceeds from pints of Blue Moon will be donated to Autism Speaks as part of their Light It Up Blue campaign!

In celebration of the fourth annual World Autism Awareness Day, Light It Up Blue seeks, "to shine a light on autism by raising awareness in communities across North America." Over the evenings of April 1 and 2, important buildings around the world will be turning their lights blue for the cause! Additionally, many individual communities, businesses, and even just families will be hosting their own events to raise awareness as well as funds for Autism Speaks.

Affecting one in every 110 children (and one in every 70 boys), autism prevalence figures continue to grow. Founded in 2005, Autism Speaks is now the United States' largest autism science and advocacy organization. Autism Speaks remains, "Dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families."

With a cause like that, how can you not raise your glass with us?

The Hive Cares

As partners and friends of our local National Lacrosse League (NLL) team, the Minnesota Swarm, we wanted to share their efforts in the fight against cancer.

On April 16, the Swarm will host their annual Hive Cares event to coincide with that evening's game. As part of the overall NLL initiative to "Black Out Cancer", the Swarm seeks to partner with individuals and companies to secure cash donations to the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund. There are three levels of support for the fund, and all levels include a donation of game tickets to cancer patients, survivors, and families  If you're interested in supporting the Swarm in this venture, we encourage you to visit the Hive Cares Corporate Partners page on their website.

Then, at 7:30pm, the Swarm will don commemorative helmets and jerseys as they take on the Philadelphia Wings. In addition to the larger-scale cash support for the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund, individuals are also able to just donate tickets that will be used by cancer patients, survivors, and their families. To donate tickets to a fan that has been affected by cancer, please visit the 2011 Hive Cares Ticket Donation page.

To cap off the wonderful event, the Swarm will be auctioning off the commemorative pink jerseys and helmets worn in the game. To get in on the auction, simply visit the auction page.

A great event for a great cause! We hope you'll join us. Go Swarm!

Here Comes the Bride

Did you just get engaged over New Years or Valentine's Day? Have you been engaged, but now have a date in mind? Well, congratulations either way!

In my circle, it seems like there's something in the water, because it is full-on wedding season in these parts. Good thing we've got some serious wedding expertise under our belts. Perhaps you're not aware, but Cork's actually serves as the on-site caterer for private dining functions, meetings, and events at the attached Embassy Suites St. Paul. This means that we have the pleasure of hosting anything from small, intimate family dinners, as well as large corporate meetings, and our favorite, weddings!

The Gazebo in our beautiful, garden atrium is the ideal setting for wedding ceremonies. Our own indoor ducks wander the grounds, as your guests meander down the cobblestone garden path to your wedding!

Then, guests make their way to our in-house ballroom for the reception, initially enjoying butler-passed hors d'oeuvres at your cocktail hour. (That way you have time for pictures in the scenic atrium with your new spouse!)

Our partnership with Embassy Suites St. Paul is also quite conducive for securing group rates on hotel rooms, so that after dancing the night away, your guests can drift to sleep peacefully safe and sound on-premises!

To tour our space, or for more information, you can visit the Embassy Weddings website: http://www.embassyweddings.com/, Embassy Weddings Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/embassyweddings?ref=ts, or simply contact our on-site Wedding Planner directly at 651.379.5061.

Let the fun and joy of your new life together begin!
